      Quando Federer dominava: Storia di un Record che Resiste dal 2006

      Dominare il circuito ATP come fece Roger Federer tra il 2004 e il 2006 resta un’impresa titanica. Lo svizzero conquistò 34 titoli in quel triennio, stabilendo il record di tornei vinti in una singola stagione da quando, nel 1990, venne istituito un calendario simile all’attuale.
      I Record dell’Era OpenSe si guarda all’intera Era Open, troviamo leggende come:– Rod Laver, Ilie Nastase e Guillermo Vilas: 16 titoli in una stagione– Jimmy Connors e Ivan Lendl: 15 titoli– Rod Laver (1968 e 1970), Björn Borg (1979) e John McEnroe (1984): 13 titoli
      Tuttavia, questi risultati furono ottenuti in un contesto completamente diverso, con calendari molto differenti da quello attuale.

      Hong Kong: Sonego crolla nel terzo set, Norrie ai quarti

      Lorenzo Sonego esce di scena agli ottavi di finale dell’ATP 250 di Hong Kong, sconfitto dal britannico Cameron Norrie in una partita complicata anche dalle condizioni meteorologiche. Il tennista italiano, dopo un primo set opaco, ha mostrato carattere nel secondo parziale, ma è crollato nel terzo, cedendo con il punteggio di 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 dopo due ore e 32 minuti di battaglia.
      Il match è stato caratterizzato da continue interruzioni per pioggia che hanno costretto i giocatori a frequenti rientri negli spogliatoi, rendendo difficile mantenere il ritmo e la concentrazione. Norrie ha iniziato meglio, imponendo il suo tennis mancino nel primo set: le sue traiettorie si sono rivelate letali per Sonego, costretto a perdere campo e a subire l’iniziativa dell’avversario, specialmente nello schema dritto incrociato-rovescio lungolinea. Due break nel terzo e settimo gioco hanno portato al 6-2.
      Nel secondo set, nonostante le interruzioni, Sonego è riuscito a trovare le contromisure. L’azzurro ha alzato il livello nel decimo game con alcune risposte fulminanti che gli hanno permesso di pareggiare i conti sul 6-4.
